Crowns & Bridgework
State-of-the-Art Dental Technology
Unlike removable devices such as dentures, which you can take out and clean daily, both crowns and most bridges are fixed prosthetic devices. Using the most advanced dental technology available we are able to craft beautiful exceptional crowns and bridges for replacing missing teeth and fabrication of dental restorations.
If you are worried that dental crowns are conspicuous and unattractive, then you’ve never noticed a beautifully crafted all-porcelain crown from Dr. Ben at Centport Dental. Compared to older porcelain fused to metal crowns, all-porcelain crowns have a natural appearance in terms of color and contour. When done properly, crowns should be extremely difficult to distinguish from natural teeth. We even routinely replace unsightly crowns with beautiful new porcelain crowns. And we do it the same day of your visit!
Dental Bridges That Look Incredibly Natural
If you are missing a tooth that would naturally be between two other teeth, a dental bridge may be the answer for you? This type of gap can be efficiently filled with a dental bridge. A dental bridge is made up of three components: two dental crowns and one prosthetic tooth. In order to create a dental bridge, Dr. Ben will first prepare the teeth on either side of the gap to be capped by dental crowns. The dental crowns are made using our sophisticated 3D Mapping and Cerec CAD/CAM system. At the same time, a prosthetic tooth will be made from the same natural-looking, nonmetal material. After the dental crowns are put in place, they will anchor the prosthetic tooth, or bridge.
Did you know…
That many people have unexplained pain from back teeth? This is usually due to hairline cracks in the chewing part of the tooth. Placing crowns on these teeth relieves the pain and allows a return of full dental function for these teeth.
The Versatility of Crowns & Bridges
Crown and bridgework is a very reliable solution for major dental problems caused through accidents, diseases or just general wear and tear. Material used in these repairs is either high-grade porcelain or porcelain bonded to strong metals. Where accidental damage has occurred, resulting in lost teeth, or where teeth have broken through excessive wear, or as the result of old fillings breaking, crowns and/or bridges can be used as a long-term solution.
In front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause “appearance” problems due to staining or chipping. Porcelain crowns and bridges are viable option in cases where porcelain veneers are not the best choice.
